As of now the latest release is 3.7.0.
In a first attempt I could already notice that it is missing
geoip
as a dep or makedep.Build of 3.7.0 was succesfull, packaging not. I may take a further look into what happens with this custom build system.

'geoip' needs to be added as a $make_depends

I am getting this error message:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lGeoIP
. Should it be geoip?

Not sure how this worked in the past, but I ran the adduser.sh script manually with root permissions and was able to create the user and group necessary.
sudo ./init/adduser.sh ossec ossecm ossecr ossec $HOME/.cache/yay/ossec-hids/pkg/ossec-hids/var/ossec

I also got @vas error. Does anyone found a solution for this? It would be great for the package maintainer tell us how he did install the package
