I couldn't build this any more so I will orphan the package like I mentioned in the previous comment and make a new package with the binary Github release.

Edit: paperboy-bin is up now.

I will check that out. I have been slow because of the dependencies since it feels like a such a chore to update and recheck as I don't use haskell.

yes, please make a paperboy-bin. it is extremely easy to install so shouldn't take long, and is a tiny file without the 430MB of dependencies.

Since September 2020, they also release static compiled binaries https://github.com/2mol/pboy/pull/46

So an alternative AUR package "paperboy-bin" is now possible, since this is such a "difficult" haskell package. It would avoid having to download the half gigabyte haskell dependencies.
