I mean I've read the PKGBUILD and checked the upstream docs of PDL::Graphics::IIS. Sorry, I should have been more clear on what I meant there.
For other dependency, only ds9 should be specified as ds9-bin also provides the non bin variant.

As documented in the PKGBUILD and DEPENDENCIES, it was to be used by PDL::Graphics::IIS - but I've realised now that xgterm does not provide ximtool. The remaining options are ds9 and ds9-bin.

Graphics::IIS appears to be the only module that builds without its external dependencies, so I will move this to optdepends.

What is xgterm needed for explicitly? not mentioned anywhere in code: https://github.com/search?q=repo%3APDLPorters%2Fpdl%20xgterm&type=code

I'd drop this to optdepends.

Should be up to date now, I checked all the dependencies from scratch.

You may not need all of the listed deps - check the PKGBUILD for more info

Please remove fftw2 dependency; not needed since 2013.
