For some reason, that I'm yet to determine, I did not had which on my system, even though I had base-devel installed. Looking at pacman.log I only see which being installed, but only after I removed base-devel and added it again, which is now installed again.

No, which is part of the base-devel package group which you should have already installed before using AUR at all - see Wiki

The PKGBUILD is missing which on makedepends.

@TJM spambot got triggered for another reason, but regarding --assume-installed flag - it's a duplicate issue anyway (https://github.com/actionless/pikaur/issues/633), and it's planned to be implemented

you either intentionally lying (because got triggered by reminding of your inability to read and follow simple wiki article) or don't understand what obfuscation is, considering that you blaming me in "hostility" for no reason - it's definitely the case of being triggered

Let's just keep this is a WARNING here for other users. You can find anything in AUR and everyone needs to check themself whether to trust a source - and its developer(s) - or not. I, personally, try to stay away from software made by people who try to hide their intentions (in code) and are hostile to their users.
