Can you try greping for pithos instead?

Ok, could you put that python code in a script and run: strace python that_script.py 2>&1 | grep entry_points

[testing] is the testing repository (if you don't know what it is, you aren't using it). Your python path is probably fine (otherwise, those python commands would have raised an exception).
