Ah, yes, that's correct, I should have added this package to makedeps, since now I'm requiring cursors rebuild on each update. Thank you for noticing this!

The relative path fixed my original issue, but now it's failing due to requiring
xcursorgen
as a makedep. I usually build AUR packages in a clean chroot, that probably has something to do with it.Gigas002 commented on 2024-05-08 14:00 (UTC) (edited on 2024-05-08 14:18 (UTC) by Gigas002)
Hey, @BrianAllred! Can't reproduce your issue. Tried changing relative path to
$startdir/$patch
in PKGBUILD, maybe this will help.If it doesn't, could you please try to do the following:
And see if it still fails?
BrianAllred commented on 2024-05-08 13:47 (UTC)
Build fails in the prepare step, says
patch: **** Can't open patch file ../../cursors.patch : No such file or directory

Ah, I see. Thanks for telling this. I wonder why GTK theme doesn't appear on your system by default though

So I tracked it down to another thing indeed. To build the package we used an interfere basically changing parts of the PKGBUILD) for quite a while to work around the exact same issue. The interfere only applies to the exact pkgname, so it was no longer used for this new package. Sorry about bothering you, this was completely my oversight.

@dr460nf1r3 For renaming I only changed the
pkgname
anddepends
part. The_pkgname
part was not changed at all. I guess the your issue is caused by something else. I couldn't reproduce it on my pcdr460nf1r3 commented on 2023-10-31 07:50 (UTC)
Was the package using "sweet" (lowercase) as name for the GTK theme before? After moving to the new package name, GTK themes were suddenly no longer themed. There are no commits available to look into the changes. I'd suggest reverting this if it has indeed been changed, since it breaks a lot of existing setups.
