Hi @DodoGTA, first of all thanks for creating this! I have bee using this package now and noticed, that it is currently not possible to login securely via FIDO or other passkey solutions. This feature is supported on the native clients provided by Proton. The option for Biometrics currently appears within the settings, but seems to be greyed out. When I login into the proton pass web app into my account on which a FIDO key is setup I've noticed, that I have to insert my key to login into my proton account in general. However, the "Biometrics" option is not even appearing inside the web of proton-pass itself. I think proton handles the web-based login flow for FIDO diffidently then on the native desktop apps. Is there anyway the "web based" login flow for FIDO keys could be utilized within electron so it works with this package?

yeah did that as well...
By continuing testing, I found out that my VM surprisingly started to work again, without touching any install/uninstall but just rebooting..
So rebooted ... it works again.
Sorry for that, but thanks for trying to help. very much appreciated.

@Varen Have you tried installing the
electron
package to pull its dependencies? If the app works after installing that package, then I have definitely missed some Chromium/Electron dependency (and I did runnamcap
on the package before to get most of the missing dependencies)Varen commented on 2025-01-07 13:58 (UTC) (edited on 2025-01-07 13:58 (UTC) by Varen)
Thanks. I just updated to the latest version - no luck, same issue
Installed the asar package but still no luck unfortunately.
No idea what it is, I've just tried in a VM I set up quickly to test and got the same issue...weird
The flatpak starts just fine, so I believe it is some kind of weird dependency or smth, no idea...will try to gather more info about it
Edit: formatting

@Varen Does installing the
asar
package help with that issue? I don't have your issue on my systemEdit: Even after uninstalling
asar
on my system the problem doesn't appear (so it's maybe something else?)Varen commented on 2025-01-07 09:17 (UTC)

@nervocalm This package packages the official Proton Pass binaries for Arch Linux (while proton-pass should be built from the program's sources but it currently isn't)
I try to update my packages fairly often (but you can do a flag if I missed to do that)

Hi guys! just wanted to know the difference between this package and the proton-pass one. Both seems to have the same source (proton-pass_1.25.0_amd64.deb). I can use either one? Are updates more likely to come more in one than in the other? thank you for all the work and effort.
