Why is mariadb a hard dependency for this? Yes the panel needs access to a db, but does it actually require that the db be installed on the same machine (in the same container) (or on the same hosting)?
It seems to me this is problematic for anyone using a hosting company (or those of us that keep our DBs on different hosts.)
Hell, this even violates the one container, one process, rule for anyone trying to run it in a container.
Bottom line, mariadb is optional. Please set it as such.
