Strange, I just installed it with no issue. Have you synced your system before installing ? Then, how do you exactly try to install it (aur helper, etc) ? Could you paste here the steps necessary to reproduce ?

When I try to install this I get a linker error :S

this also doesn't need to provide python-cocotb-git because, again, this IS python-cocotb-git. However, it definitely needs to provide python-cocotb, and since it doesn't it means that if this package is installed, no package that requires python-cocotb can be installed.
