@zoharcochavi: Try to rebuild all ROS pacakges, one package is still compiled against 3.7

@bionade24 I wanted to ask you for your help since I'm quite confident there is something in the PKGBUILD that doesn't work for me. I'm not quite confident if this is the right way to ask (perhaps email?) so feel free to delete the comment

I came across an issue, which I have been unable to solve on my own. I get this error.

Manually-specified variables were not used by the project:

PYTHON_BASENAME

(...)

/home/zohar/Downloads/ros-melodic-rospack/src/rospack-2.5.4/src/rospack.cpp:28:10: fatal error: Python.h: No such file or directory 28 | #include <Python.h> |

(The rest of the lines in the terminal are make saying everything is fine)

I first thought this would be a problem with my rather stupid use of pacman and pip. So I concluded the problem would be with my setup, so I installed manjaro again. I still have the same issue, even after trying to modify the PKGBUILD. If you need more info I'm more than happy to give it, since I've spent way too much time trying to figure this out.

Thanks in advance!

@bionade24 Thank you for updating the package, it successfully installs for me!

I stand by the error I had received, but I will apologize for not doing a thorough search on the issue and coming across the meta package. I also do not want to skip checksums. They are there for a reason. In any case thank you for maintaining this package and sorry for not reaching out to via email instead of just the comments.

@acxu: What bulltshit do you tell? You never communitcated with me, so you lie. If you ever had read the comments under the meta packages, you would have known that I'm wiping out the shit of the old maintainer. Get pikaur, then you can skip checksums.

I am trying to install this package however, the package fails the validity check. It seems like people have potential solutions to this problem below. Can we get this fixed? If it is too difficult, I am willing to co-maintain the package.

@Salamandar: Thank you. I tried and I installed rospack. But than I tried to install rest of ros-melodic-desktop-full and it complained for sha256sum of ros-melodic-rosout and ros-melodic-pluginlib... Long story short ros-melodic-roscpp complaining about "boost_signals". Looks like ROS uses some old Boost. So I`ll conquer galaxy with army of battle droids using docker... %(

What do you mean by "your can't fast-forward on AUR" ? Just modify the files and do a "Fix shasums" commit. ROS is basically unusable on Arch thanks to you not wanting to do this.
