For some reason turtlesim components were linked to system libboost_thread in addition to one under /opt/boost1.69:

ldd /opt/ros/melodic/lib/turtlesim/turtlesim_node | grep boost libboost_thread.so.1.76.0 => /usr/lib/libboost_thread.so.1.76.0 libboost_thread.so.1.69.0 => /opt/boost1.69/lib/libboost_thread.so.1.69.0

This caused segmentation faults in turtlesim.

Adding "-DBoost_NO_SYSTEM_PATHS=ON" to cmake in build() fixed this.
