The GUI label is intentionally 2.2.4, this is related to it being a Linux-only launcher update, sorry if this causes any confusion

Note: It is important to keep PGP signature verification enabled, because this PKGBUILD does not verify sha256sums due to Jagex frequently releasing rebuilds with the same version number.

Don't forget to import the Jagex PGP key if installing for the first time:

gpg --keyserver hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key AAC9264309E4D717441DB9527373B12CE03BEB4B

@Edupop That's what I first tried multiple times. It accomplished nothing. Thanks for trying to help.

@thewisenoob @Tazzingo Deleting all the files in ~/Jagex/RuneScape and having the client redownload them fixed the lobby overlap bug for me.

Tazzingo commented on 2017-02-01 01:39 (UTC)

@thewisenoob found a temporary workaround, however this will sound stupid. I run minimum settings and never login/logout at Priffdinas. For some reason it triggers this bug there. Also normally open first runescape before opening, like firefox, or something alike.

@Tazzingo It appears to be an ATI specific issue on Linux. Supposedly, Jagex only has one computer with an ATI card. I've seen a few posts on the forums with the same issue from months ago. Jagex needs to get their shit together.

Tazzingo commented on 2017-01-22 03:57 (UTC)

@thewisenoob, yeah having this issue myself too on my laptop. Even when the game loads at some point the pre-login lobby overlaps the game and freezes, only after a few tries it barely hangs in there running the game. I tested on a diferent PC through a virtual machine and despite running at low fps rates, it never occurred the problem above. Might this be the issue @ase1590 did bring? Laptop is actually a AMD graphics card.

@thewisenoob, no problems here. And although I did had issues reaching the login screen itself lately, it was an issue with my DNS configurations, so I don't think it's related.

thewisenoob commented on 2017-01-12 08:21 (UTC)

Is anybody having trouble getting past the login screen? The game either freezes on the login screen or freezes when logging in now. NXT used to work fine.

Notice for AMDGPU Cinnamon users: The runescape client seems to spaz out the open source AMDGPU drivers when launching the game, causing a lot of screen flickering and graphical corruption/artifacts to appear at random positions on the display.

Game loads fine when I click login and it tells me that its loading to please wait the spinning yellow circle stops and the game freezes. I have never been able to launch it. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing it to freeze when its trying to login to the game?
