The GUI label is intentionally 2.2.4, this is related to it being a Linux-only launcher update, sorry if this causes any confusion

Note: It is important to keep PGP signature verification enabled, because this PKGBUILD does not verify sha256sums due to Jagex frequently releasing rebuilds with the same version number.

Don't forget to import the Jagex PGP key if installing for the first time:

gpg --keyserver hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key AAC9264309E4D717441DB9527373B12CE03BEB4B

I was unable to import the key automatically, the gpg --recv-key command listed below failed with this error:

gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: Total number processed: 0

What worked for me was to find and import the key manually:

curl https://content.runescape.com/downloads/ubuntu/runescape.gpg.key | gpg --import

I keep getting this error: ERROR: PGP signature of 'Release' could not be verified

gpg: Signature made Thursday 19 March 2020 05:31:32 PM IST

gpg: using RSA key AAC9264309E4D717441DB9527373B12CE03BEB4B

gpg: Can't check signature: No public key

==> ERROR: A failure occurred in prepare().

That's a "could not be verified" for a completely different reason. Notice it outright says "bad signature" and not just "missing key"...

Either you have mismatching Release and Release.gpg files (they're actually rebuilt every now and then), or you have in fact downloaded a corrupted file. Check its contents, delete all 4 downloaded files and then retry.

I've imported AAC9264309E4D717441DB9527373B12CE03BEB4B, still getting:

==> ERROR: PGP signature of 'Release' could not be verified
gpg: Signature made Thu 19 Mar 2020 08:01:32 AM EDT
gpg: using RSA key AAC9264309E4D717441DB9527373B12CE03BEB4B
gpg: BAD signature from "RuneScape Linux <noreply@jagex.com>" [unknown]
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in prepare().
    Aborting...

Seems the binaries are now included in the .deb again as of 2.2.7.

Ok I've found the problem, apparently my terminal automatically escapes the curly brackets. Thanks for responding so quickly :)

The files are still there. (Four files, to be specific.) Don't put the URL in quotes – it uses bash/zsh {…} expansion to grab all of them at once.

But if the upstream package is still broken, I guess I'll just make the PKGBUILD directly download the old package for now. (The game will just auto-update anyway.)
