I solved the problem thanks to @kikislater: $ sudo nano /var/lib/pacman/local/saga-gis-3.0.0-1/desc change the %DEPENDS% line wxgtk>=3.0.0 to wxgtk $ sudo pacman -Su

Please change line 15 from depends=('wxgtk>=3.0.0' to depends=('wxgtk' Also, I wonder why just using make -j2, it's very slow to build. I change my pacman preferences to use all cores I need and I think it's a better way, so -jX is not needed.

Same problem as @gish during system update error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies) :: saga-gis: removing wxgtk breaks dependency 'wxgtk>=3.0.0'

I don't know why but somehow the PKGBUILD does not wxgtk2 providing wxgtk even though they are at >=3.0.0 as requested (3.0.3.1-6 atm).

@midraed to reload the libraries it is necessary to uninstall saga-gis (sudo pacman -Rc saga-gis) before updating the new version.

Please replace line 27 with source=("http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/saga-gis/SAGA%20-%203/SAGA%20-%20${pkgver}/saga_${pkgver}.tar.gz")
