Hm, it still can't find the file. Did you copy it from your home (
~/
) to your cache?cp ~/scrt-sfx-9.6.1-3491.ubuntu24-64.x86_64.deb ~/.cache/yay/scrt-sfx-opt-bin/

I agree with you, kb8doa. I think they should release a flatpak version, really. I just installed a fresh Manjaro via quickemu (a nice way to test out linux distros quickly).
I found it extremely frustrating to work with pamac. I highly recommend you switch to yay, if not for your system as a whole, then just for AUR packages.
sudo pacman -S yay
Then you'll try to install this package
yay -S scrt-sfx-opt-bin
, you'll get the same error (basically file not found). If you download the file to your home folder, you'll do the following:
Here's my output (note, I cancelled before it finished as I already have normal scrt installed, but I got past the failure):

Thanks for the response. It still fails to build when I place the .deb file in /tmp (also tried /var/tmp)
Failure while downloading file://scrt-sfx-9.6.1-3491.ubuntu24-64.x86_64.deb
It is sad that I cannot use my paid license for scrt/sfx just because it will not install into Manjaro.
I wish VanDyke would just allow the binary to be distributed with this install. They just lost a customer...

@kb8doa it looks like it uses the
/tmp/
folderhttps://forum.manjaro.org/t/pamac-does-not-permanently-cache-packages-from-aur/88952/2

I am trying again to install this.
I am using the Pamac GUI (v11.7.2-1) to install this.
I have no idea if my system uses yay or paru.
I really need to understand where exactly to put the binary as Pamac keeps failing with "Failure while downloading file://scrt-sfx-9.6.1-3491.ubuntu24-64.x86_64.deb"

@xd003
Bad file:// URL ==> ERROR: Failure while downloading file://scrt-sfx-9.5.2-3325.ubuntu22-64.x86_64.deb
It looks like you haven't provided the *.deb file. It has to be downloaded by yourself and placed at
/home/xd003/.cache/yay/scrt-sfx-opt-bin
.Packages are not meant to provide binaries that require a login.
