Update: dep uwsgi-fix was removed on the AUR so I submitted uwsgi-ng which has a better package description.

Update: I fixed version_frozen.py with the updated PKGBUILD of searxng-git on the AUR.

I submitted uwsgi-fix, which is uwsgi 2.0.20 with the Python 3.10 patch.

searxng-git now depends from uwsgi-fix and uwsgi-fix-plugin-python, and no longer from the broken uwsgi* packages.

There are no more real showstoppers, thus searxng-git got a package update.

Update:

There is an issue with uwsgi and Python >= 3.10. https://github.com/unbit/uwsgi/pull/2363

The third remaining showstopper is the following: uwsgi 2.0.21 should be released and take into account the PR #2363.

Showstoppers 1 to 3 have been fixed.

Remaining showstoppers:

  1. The upgrade-httpx branch should be merged > https://github.com/searxng/searxng/pull/596

  2. Configuration errors should be clarified > https://github.com/searxng/searxng/issues/662

The caveat of the original searxng is that the rebranding from searx to searxng was not over yet. They have almost completed the rebranding but it is sadly not over yet.

I am willing to pinpoint this AUR package to the official searxng, once the following showstoppers are fixed:

  1. python-httpx-socks should be updated to the last version. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-httpx-socks/

  2. python-http-core should be updated to the last version. https://archlinux.org/packages/community/any/python-httpcore/

  3. python-httpx should be updated to the last version. https://archlinux.org/packages/community/any/python-httpx/

  4. The latest httpx and httpcore should be supported by searxng. https://github.com/searxng/searxng/issues/589

I will update the new searxng-git PKGBUILD once this is done.

I just realized that the actual source in the PKGUILD is your own fork of searxng. This is misleading because you are saying that the upstream-url is https://searxng.github.io/searxng/ Please change the source to https://github.com/searxng/searxng/ or change the Upstream-URL to your own repo and rename this package to searxng-hlfh-git so people immediately can see that its a modified version of searxng and not the original.

The installation works and I can use searxng however during the installation-process an error is shown:
