You have to set the max. amplification in the audio options of smplayer on 100.

The volume option must be <= 100.000000: 101 Error parsing option volume (parameter is outside values allowed for option) Setting command line option '--volume=101' failed. Exiting... (Fatal error)

I added a patch for compilation with Qt 5.5.

With Manjaro & BridgeLinux (latest updates installed ofcourse), this cannot be compiled properly. Updated.

Updated PKGBUILD based on the package in extra, which defaults to Qt 5, installs the docs in the right path. This also optdepends on the official packages (svn version provide the ones without -svn) and has mpv as optdepends (as SMPlayer is working with mpv). http://pastebin.com/JUQk3Ehr
