For a definitive answer, you should try the SnapRAID support forum: https://sourceforge.net/p/snapraid/discussion/1677233 If you are using ReiserFS (or possibly other FUSE filesystems), it may be a bug that was introduced in version 4.0 where it tries to get the physical offset of the file in a way that does not work with some filesystems. You can try downloading the 4.1 beta from upstream (which should fix it), or you can wait until 4.1 is officially released and use the AUR package.

I can't seem to get the tests to pass on my machine. Getting this failure: --- Create some files, sync raid6 and check ./mktest generate 1 3 2000 4000 ./snapraid --test-skip-device --test-skip-self -v -c ./test-raid6.conf diff > test.log Error in getting the physical offset of file 'test/disk1/3c15jn6ni'. Operation not supported. make[1]: *** [check-local] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/yaourt-tmp-root/aur-snapraid/src/snapraid-4.0' make: *** [check-am] Error 2 Any ideas?

Compiling/installing takes a lot of time due to all the tests being run. Are they really necessary? Oh, wait... I can just do makepkg --nocheck :-) Nice package - cheers!

I'm going to skip 1.12 here since the only change was for Windows -- no differences for linux.
