You have to install this package manually, due to linking restrictions. Either copy snx_install_linux30.sh that you downloaded from Upstream to where PKGBUILD is located or link to it via

ln -s ~/Download/snx_install_linux30.sh ~/.cache/yay/snx

then cd into ~/.cache/yay/snx and run

makepkg -si 

Assuming you're using yay.

Just found a post on Checkpoint's community forum from a few days ago saying:

snx_install.sh comes from the gateway you're connecting to. We don't make it available independently. See: https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk114267

Said KB was also updated 2 days prior to the post.

Looks like they decided to do some cleaning and to remove old artifacts.

Not sure about the license for snx but I have to guess it's not OSS. As I said earlier I still have the file in its latest version but contrary to what I said previously, I won't be able to link to the file since I'm probably not allowed to distribute it on my own (because of the licensing): I'll look into it.

In the meantime, your best bet should be to ask yout network administrator to provide you with a link to download it from the appliances you'll be connecting to. Do not hesitate to send him a link to the KB.

Checkpoint appliances usualy expose an http route to download corresponding snx version. I believe the URI you're providing comes from such appliances. I personnaly prefer to fetch the installer from an official source and until now, the link provided in the PKGBUILD did work for version 800010003 which was the latest but sadly it looks like they updated their website so now the link doesn't work anymore.

I'll look for it a bit. If I don't find it there anymore, I still have a copy I'll upload somewhere if I can. The sha256 sum will stay consistent so you'll know I didn't mess with the file.

This link allows me to download version 800008304 (apparently the latest) of snx_install.sh:

The PKGBUILD should be changed.

There wasn't any update of this package since 2022-03-29, the package on my system is built with the 800010003 release (download link is provided in the PKGBUILD) and I still use it on a daily basis.

I've not been notified at work about a new binary release and I've been looking into it without success. It'd be nice if you could tell when you estimate the last big update you're referring and what binary release you used.

Hi, I am not sure since when, i estimate since the last big update, i can't use snx anymore. The current error I get is.

13064:error:14077410:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure:s23_clnt.c:757

Is there an issue with the dependencies or the snx package itself, or am I the only one with this issue?

I am using pamac, and then I needed to copy the snx_install_linux30.sh file to /var/tmp/pamac-build-<user>/snx/.

Correction (and simplification) of pinned comment:

After downloading the shell script from Checkpoint ("Upstream URL") to your Downloads folder, run:

ln -s ~/Downloads/snx_install_linux30.sh ~/.cache/yay/snx

and then re-run:

yay

@hcjl you're welcome, I've been using it for two years now and still have to use it on a daily basis so it's in my best interest that this package stays maintained.

I should be alerted at work when a new update is available.
