Thank you for report, but without this line clear built package still contains the icon-theme.cache.

Does not look true in a clean chroot:

rm: cannot remove '/home/main-builder/pkgwork/pkg/spectral-matrix-git/usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache': No such file or directory

You could try changing it to "rm -f", at least it won't fail, and then work in both cases.

this rm $pkgdir/usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache is not created anymore
