From version 0.20.0, oauth2 is supported, so the workaround is not needed anymore (you might need to login again)

Just to add to the comment about oauth2. The files are in the .cache folder, not the .config folder. But with that change, it works fine.

spotifys newly introduced OAuth2 client authentication method hasn't been implemented up so far, thus its lacks a basic functionality, for at least 2 months already.

A workaround is to retrieve a valid OAuth2 token via ncspot temporarily. cp ~/.config/ncspot/librespot/credentials.json ~/.config/spotify_player/credentials.json

librespot-auth should work as well to retrieve valid credentials https://github.com/dspearson/librespot-auth

@5p4r70n do you only have this issue with this aur package, or also with upstream compiled or the regular spotify-player package?

If the problem is there as well, it's an upstream issue and you should check there

unable to login..

Shows failed to authenticate

tried with the email and the username from website..

Am i missing something??
