@mikes: great job. i think the best would be to create a 'fork' of this pkgbuild, what d'ya think? jose

I've massively re-worked this package to depend on the AUR's own Darkplaces package instead of using the precompiled binary in the archive; I've been speaking to the game's author and he hasn't modified Darkplaces so this should work fine (I've briefly tested it). My changes: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13513277/steelstorm2-hib-2.00.02818-1.src.tar.gz

@CPUnltd: i don't get such an error. one thing i had to do though was regenerating md5sums. could you please check if your .tar.gz file matches the md5sum: dc3e88ac4efd12e88037af140aa803ca ?

Admittedly, I want it included because I'm lazy and like to have an update process which doesn't require me to do anything. If you look at the shank PKGBUILD though, it has a function which will basically need a copy-and-paste into this one since it works for any HIB download. It's up to you of course, but I would prefer a no-effort update process, especially since this package is for the HIB version. Of course, I could add it to the PKGBUILD if you want.

sure i could do that. the question is whether it is worth it. the upstream sources haven't been updated for quite a while (and there is a concern they never will be - google for motorsep interview). jose

Could you use a script to automatically download the game? The shank package has a nice function for downloading a game. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=55185

@ThecaTTony: thank you, fixed

Hi, please replace: install=(${_pkgname}.install) with install=${_pkgname}.install or install=('${_pkgname}.install') To avoid the "(" error on name: ==> ERROR: El archivo install ((steelstorm.install)) no existe. Thanks
