@JL2210: yes; upstream sway often asks for asan dumps when reporting dumps where the issue is not obvious, and there have been several crashes which pointed to memory corruption in the past, which is why I made this package.

Apparently, just adding the asan compile options isn't enough for sway to work and actually dump core on crashing, so this package was made so other people can just use it.

What's the use-case for this? Debugging crashes/memory leaks?

Thanks for the effort! It works great now.

@tfl5034: updated wlroots-asan-git and sway-asan-git both to be up to date with the upstream -git packages

@tfl5034: thanks for the report, I'll fix it when I find some time.

I don't use this package myself anymore that often, so it got out of date. I'll bring it back up to date with the sway-git package.

Installing this package fails because contrib files were moved to a different repository in commit https://github.com/swaywm/sway/commit/bb91b7f5fa7fddb582b8dddf208cc335d39da9e7
