Well the good news is I've got this to build on 6.6! Wasn't all that difficult after all really. Just needed to take the "master" branch of cookog's repository, replace the remaining "EXPORT_SYMBOL"s with "EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL", replace a single .probe_new with .probe and then replace a couple of "media/dvb_math.h" with "linux/int_log.h".

With the switch in the LTS kernel from 6.1.x to 6.6.x, this is now even more broken again.

@elParaguayo Yes it's specifically this commit on @cookog's master branch that breaks things: 25c33a7605250b65a38e8f32740db7317091128a. Unfortunately both package maintainers (@AlexanderS & @cookog) have gone AWOL so I don't know who's going to pick this up. I thought I could give it a go but it's beyond my ability really. Especially as @AlexanderS has made a lot of changes to the original TBS repo his is a fork off.
Of course it's now very out of date compared to the actual current drivers in https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/tbs-linux_media-git, but at least it still works...

After upgrading and rebooting I can still watch TV via my tuners so, yes, seems to work ok!

Yes the package builds ok, but does the dkms work when the kernel is updated ?
elParaguayo commented on 2024-01-05 22:20 (UTC) (edited on 2024-01-05 22:20 (UTC) by elParaguayo)
It built ok for me on Arch linux-lts 6.1.70-1.
My PKGBUILD is slightly different and uses the 6.1 branch of cookog's repo (i.e. my source line includes this "source=('git+https://github.com/cookog/tbsecp3-driver#branch=6.1'"

DKMS modules won't build anymore on LTS kernel.
(3/4) Install DKMS modules ==> dkms install --no-depmod tbsecp3-driver-git/r20230705.211528.25c33a7 -k 6.1.68-1-MANJARO Error! @mvn23 looks like TBS have simply restored the file: https://github.com/tbsdtv/linux_media/commits/master/
Unfortunately, I thought I'd be able to bring this version more up to date with the parent again, but It's beyond my ability I'm afraid.
