Thanks for the info. I've added the 'provides' and the 'conflicts' and moved python-setuptools to makedepends. But regarding the license file, I'm already adding that file to /usr/share/licenses in line 33. Which tool did you use to obtain that output regarding the missing license file?

Please move python-setuptools out of the depends array and into the makedepends array.

add conflicts=("tcharmap"),
install a license file into /usr/share/licenses/tcharmap-git/:

tcharmap-git E: Uncommon license identifiers such as 'MIT' require license files below /usr/share/licenses/tcharmap-git/ or switching to common license identifiers. Found 0/1 required license files.
