Hmm, looks like something was changed in makepkg such that it no longer handles the extraction of gz files that are not tar files. The result is that the NAME_diff.gz patches no longer get extracted into
src/.I've worked around this by using the Gentoo sources and patchset for this application. It should build correctly going forward.
As always, thanks for reporting out-of-date and broken packages.

There's an issue. It says: ".../PKGBUILD: line 23: ../*.diff: File or directory does not exist." when trying to build.
