I FIXED IT! :) https://gist.github.com/sseemayer/0c73a1ed723fb9ce4992 The most interesting of the patches is #2 -- as it turns out, the makepkg script was stripping the binaries of symbols by default before creating the package, changing the checksum of `/usr/local/ibm/gsk8_64/lib64/N/icc/icclib/libicclib083.so` which failed a signature test. By adding `options=(!strip)`, this feature was disabled and the client can be used normally.

I can confirm A, B (partially, it seems to hang on 'checking agent portnumber' for me) and C, but unfortunately, running a backup via the command line still results in an error: $ sudo dsmc incr -ve IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Command Line Backup-Archive Client Interface Client Version 7, Release 1, Level 2.0 Client date/time: 07/27/2015 09:36:23 (c) Copyright by IBM Corporation and other(s) 1990, 2015. All Rights Reserved. Node Name: REDACTED ANS1463E Unexpected error in cryptography library. I've sent you the summary of what has been tried so far. Let me know if I can help with any more details about my system, etc.

I've updated it. It's an improvement in that: A It installs now and B The GUI launches without error and C It's the latest version I'd like to fix the fact that it must be run as root. I have not tested doing an actual backup yet (but it might work!).

I've taken ownership. I'll do my best to get it working. I would appreciate if you could send your troubleshooting discussions to me (via my email listed on my AUR user page).

I've tried for a few hours already and while I got the package to install again, I didn't manage to get this to actually backup files. For the foreseeable future, I won't have time to go into more depth. Disowned in the hopes that someone will be able to fix this. I've had some previous troubleshooting discussions (in german) with another user of the package that I'd be happy to send you / translate the gist of. If you're interested, feel free to contact me!

This package conflicts with the existing /usr/lib64 in my system meaning it will not install. I'd be happy to take over maintenance of this package and try to get it working.

This package might not install / run correctly anymore (Problems with installing to /usr/lib64 and after those are corrected, errors in the cryptography library) and that upgrading to the more recent 7.1.2 does not work either. Can anyone please give feedback on their experience?
