Hello everyone! I'm rather new to the AUR but I've been using Arch for a very long time and have used this script for many months. It seems to work fine as it is now, but this won't be the case forever, and so it needs a maintainer. Hence, me! Nice meeting you all.

It is a useful shorthand command package, I use it on Manjaro (they carry it in their repos).

If there is any interest in having this package in the AUR I am willing to update the PKGBUILD and maintain it. As it sits now the links are out of date so unless someone has an objection I will flag and submit the package as orphaned. Please let me know if there is any objections.

I haven't used GRUB in a very long time and don't have time to update this.

is this package dead? should we file it as orphaned?

I tend to place scripts like these in my own /usr/local dirs instead of /usr, in this case in /usr/local/sbin (in analogy to Ubuntu's choice to place it in /usr/sbin, not /usr/bin), so that no interference with distro-managed stuff would ever occur and to also emphasize that it's my local, personal addition. Whole problem solved!

why do you use this ? and don't use this command : sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg ?

Some Arch-based distros (i.e. Manjaro) already include this wrapper in their
grub
package, but Arch doesn't.micwoj92 commented on 2021-04-29 17:34 (UTC)
If you think it's redundant you can always fill deletion request.
