@Prototik: the “makepkg” in Pacman 5.0 checks PKGBUILDs more thoroughly. I have pushed a fix which makes building possible again. Thanks for the heads up!

@TrialnError: I have removed the “build()” function as suggested. As for changing theme inheritance, there is now support for setting it at package build time by setting the “_inherits” variable in the PKGBUILD. Thanks for your suggestions!

Empty functions (in this case build) can and should be removed Edit: I made some adjustments to the PKGBUILD (in this case just for personal benefit). But they do address some points that imo are in need of "correction" https://gist.github.com/Narrat/4884725a2953d3f4c9d4#file-vertex-diff I want to point at my optdepends and prepare changes (disregard the change with the pkgver). The github README states, that it uses moka, then gnome, then hicolor as fallback if there is an icon missing from vertex. So those are just optional deps. And imo they should be declared as such. Additionally a prepare function could be added to customize those replacements if someone wants to (plus to track this change a optdeps needs to be added)

There is something wrong with the dependencies for this package. On a first run, the install fails, but after repeating the install command several times and eventually installing faba-mono-icons-git explicitly, it looks as if this package installs fine. Maybe you need to list some dependencies explicitly?
