@sirocco: Found it (you asking for the dpi settings made me tick) !! "export QT_FONT_DPI=96" does the trick.

Thanks for helping,

Jouke

@sirocco: The problem sems to be with xfwm or xfce. I installed gnome and launched it using sddm. There Veusz works perfectly.

@sirocco: Rebuilding does not help. Screen resolution 5760x1080 96x96 dots per inch and I'm using X11. The only warning I get is "SAMP: could not connect to hub" which I think is unrelated.

Thank you for your help !

Rebuilding doesn't help?

What are your screen resolution and your dpi settings? Are you using Wayland? Is there any error message on the console if you start veusz from there?

@Sirocco And it is only Veusz that's showing this problem ...

@Sirocco I think so, I did a pacman -Sy and there are no updates pending

@JoukeHijlkema

Are all the packages up to date?

wayland or X11?

Removing the package 'sip-65' and then installing veusz did solve the issue for me
