Please update to work with the latest automake (1.17-1), add scripts/fix-timestamps fast before configure call.

I am getting the following error, my aclocal is of v. 1.17-1

See https://github.com/vifm/vifm/issues/553. INSTALL file has the following: "If you checkout sources from git, run scripts/fix-timestamps script first to suppress any spurious build files regeneration.". E.g. I suggest to add scripts/fix-timestamps fast directly before the configure call

Please check vifm's PKGBUILD file and update this PKGBUILD file.

Is autoreconf needed in prepare() or in build()?

The .install file (and 'desktop-file-utils') should be removed ("GNOME package guidelines").

'file' is already part of 'base'.

@jose1711, you should add --sysconfdir=/etc option to configure to install colors into /etc/vifm instead of /usr/etc/vifm.

Sorry everyone, didn't notice I was still the maintainer. I haven't used vifm in a long time and disowned the package now so someone else can adopt it.
