Please update source URL from vobsub2srt::git://github.com/ecdye/VobSub2SRT.git to vobsub2srt::git+https://github.com/ecdye/VobSub2SRT.git. With the current source I could not build the package, but after changing it works well now.

the project seems orphaned, maybe the fork https://github.com/bubonic/VobSub2SRT is a better alternative?
