For anyone who wants to make raw image data pasting work as mentioned here, please use webkit2gtk-imgpaste as the dependency.

Whenever I play a voice message, it plays normally, but it does not progress, i.e. the progress bar does not move. I can click on the bar and nothing happens. I can play and stop the message, but that's about it. Once the message finished playing, the screen freezes, the cursor moves, but the text box doesn't flash and you cannot type anything. I have to close the app and reopen it, then I see whatever I did write, after the message played, as draft.

I am using an up to date Manjaro install with KDE Plasma 6.

Cheers

I renamed the app and the new repo is here: https://github.com/xeco23/WasIstLos

For anyone using Wayland and Nvidia drivers, you need to launch it with these env vars to launch correctly: GDK_BACKEND=x11 WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1

Also downgrade to the package versions @jose1711 mentioned, and add them to IgnorePkg to keep them there

Is this still working for everyone else? After a large package update, it's not working anymore here (might still be a coincidence).

The process starts but the window hangs on the loading screen with an error message in console (see here: https://imgur.com/a/pZrDchI )

Edit: webkit2gtk bug, now apparently fixed: https://github.com/eneshecan/whatsapp-for-linux/issues/410

As of today, package seems work again without downgrading anything.

@buttcake It's webkit2gtk-4.1 that I've had to downgrade to version 2.44.4-1 So far it's the only thing I've had to downgrade it keep it working.

FYI the following downgrades worked for me:

webkit2gtk-4.1 2.44.4-1
libjxl 0.10.3-1
ffmpeg 2:7.0.2-2

@weaner This doesn't seem to work as of today.

weaner commented on 2024-09-20 09:05 (UTC)

I had to downgrade webkit2gtk to version 4.1-2.44.4-1 to get this to run.

Anyone else having problems with this since updating to webkitgtk-6.0 ? Epiphany / Gnome Web also has problems with the web whatsapp app.
