wow64 builds can run 32-bit binaries without lib32 libraries. For more info:

This package is still relevant because the following packages do not have wow64 mode enabled and/or have not dropped lib32 depends:

  • aur/wine-git
  • aur/wine-staging-git
  • multilib/wine
  • multilib/wine-staging

  • Staging patches are expected to break when the main repo is updated.
    • Recommend to wait for upstream to update. They are usually fixed rapidly.
    • If impatient, edit the PKGBUILD to exclude broken patches. Follow the existing examples in prepare().
  • Build options:
    • _build_git=false makepkg – Build last release version. (Skips release candidates.)
    • _build_staging=false makepkg – Build without any staging patches.

  • Avoid flagging and commenting at the same time for the same issue.

    • Do not flag or comment for broken patches. See above.
    • Flag for common issues with known, straightforward solutions.
    • Comment for issues that require explanation or debugging.
      • Use a pastebin for blocks of text more than a few lines.

  • Wayland support requires setting a registry variable. See Wine 9.0 Changelog.
