I'm glad debtap works for you. Nice. I had tried alien in the past without success. Unfortunately on my system, debtap is under the impression that these packages need to be installed first:

cuda-11.4.2-1 cuda-tools-11.4.2-1 egl-wayland-1.1.7-1 eglexternalplatform-1.1-2 mcpp-2.7.2-7 nvidia-utils-470.63.01-2 zeroc-ice-3.7.5-1

On my system it impossible to install nvidia-utils or CUDA without breaking graphics support for my AMD card and my passthrough nvidia card. In other words, I have to install nvidia via --no-x-check --no-opengl-files --dkms manually. I haven't tried to generate .PKGBUILD with debtap and manually removing the cuda and other pseudo dependencies to see if it still works.

On my other system, running Manjaro, without that restriction on the nvidia drivers, and with cuda already installed, the debtap version has a few post install error messages, but the program seems to run fine.

It's unclear why debtap thinks these things are necessary, or why some of you are experiencing post install difficulties.

Bottom line: debtap seems to be simpler to use and works well, though it thinks you need cuda & cuda-tools etc.

Sorry for being late in replying your comments @mostlyharmless, I have try the other updated version of your packages, but it still giving error on "libcrypto.so.1.1" during shutdown. Luckily, it didn't fall into kernel panic on power on anymore. But, I think, the root cause of the problem is the .rpm package from ZCentral_RB_20.2.1_Linux_Receiver_M39127-004.tar.gz, as right now I managed to install the HP RGS without any conflict by simply converting debian package installer from HP website using "sudo debtap -U /tmp/rgreceiver_20.3.0.8831_amd64.deb", then install it manually after conversion by using "sudo pacman -U rgreceiver-20.3.0.8831-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst". That solved my problems. Hopefully, my comments will be useful for you on the next package update.

I also noticed strange behavour after installing this package. First my system does not start X anymore. "Failed to start simple desktop display manager" I tried some things and rebootet. After that i recognized that on every reboot i get an kerel panic: Error loading shared libraries libcrypto.so.1.1 Openssl 1.1 is installed. Removed the package and system started just as normal.

Updated to latest version now M39127-005. Minor modifications due to reorganization of the package with another layer of compression of the rpm. Works for me without issue, 2 hours+

Hi bk201, I'll update to the 004 version and see if I experience any difficulties this weekend. I have not used the application for more than one hour continuously so cannot comment on whether there is a time related issue.

As you have already discovered, you have to get the source from the HP website, Neither AUR nor I cannot redistribute it. Sorry if that was unclear..

Please let me know what modifications you made. Simply incrementing the name and the signature on the source in the PKGBUILD is usually sufficient. You should not have to make any modifications to your system. It is assumed that you have openssl installed.

I'm new to Arch, does this still working? I got problem saying cannot download ZCentral_RB_2020.1.0_Linux_Receiver_M39127-001.tar.gz

Oh by the way, I try to download from HP website but seems the current version is ZCentral_RB_20.2.1_Linux_Receiver_M39127-004.tar.gz

After doing some modification relating to current version on the PKGBUILD, I can manage to install it by skipping integrity check and can use it for few hours.

Sadly, I didn't know that I was messing up with my system. It become kernel panic and dropped into emergency shell while saying that can't load shared libcypto.so.1.1 and I can't type anything which ends up I need to reinstall back my os.

Hopefully you can fix this with new one.
