Why do you think, it needs pod2man? I'm building it without. Should I add it as an optional dependency? What does it do/change?

This is missing a pod2man build dependency. Please add it. Thanks!

Another observation (orthogonal to my previous comment): Unlike one of the previous versions, the current
zdkimfilter
does not cause DKIM signatures to be included in messages stored into the Sent folder over IMAP (or in messages sent internally within the server, without getting Courier’s ESMTP client involved).I vaguely recall that this^^^ could be previously set using
all_mode = Y
, but it doesn’t seem to work that way any more.That said, to check whether signatures are actually generated, you need to have a message relayed to another ESMTP server (via your Courier-MTA server). (You can use
temp-mail.org
or the like for the test.) I had failed to double-check this regularly and recently thought that DKIM signatures were generated, but no longer stored locally. If only I had known that they were not generated at all for a long period of time, violating my ADSP and DMARC policies (which is what the previous comment was about).andrej commented on 2021-02-22 12:06 (UTC) (edited on 2021-02-22 12:15 (UTC) by andrej)
The latest version fails to sign:
EDIT: Workaround for the DKIM issue:
My general observation over the years is: Don't use GnuTLS with anything Courier-MTA-related; it never works.

It works fine here. Maybe, zdkimfilter chokes on some specific email (format)? I think, you should raise the issue to upstream (I have too few information to do that).

Validation just stopped working after a recent update. The only log message one ever sees is this one:
Presumably, no messages are validated and no validation DKIM validation headers are added.
It seems that DKIM signatures are still generated for outgoing mail.

upstream re-released - content seems to be identical modulus some commentary files (readme, changelog, manual)
