SPL got already patched for 4.15, you just need to apply the patch like done here: https://github.com/archzfs-test-pkgbuilds/spl-linux. There's also a pending pull request for archzfs (https://github.com/archzfs/archzfs/pull/216)

I can't find any info about linux 4.15 on any of the online resources available for openzfs, I've basically looked everywhere, support forums, github issues, the website, nobody is saying anything about it. Anyone got an ETA on when it'll be available? If it'll take long, I'll have to work out a workaround for my use case, that's why I'm asking.

Please see ethan_nx's answer below for a workaround for fully upgrading your system. As far as I understood there is no better and still secure way at the moment, but you can help to minimize the lag between new kernel and zfs-linux releases by e.g. flagging the package out-of-date after you recognized it.

every time I check on this package, it has been updated, but it is still out of date because linux has subsequently also updated. Whenever this package is out of date, which is almost always, I cannot upgrade my sysem at all.

surely there's a better way?

@francoism90, are you really sure you want to use zfs encryption as soon as it is released ? You want to beta test this ? I am interested in it too, but I will wait a little wait for it to get more stable before using it.

@francoism90 No, no yet. It might get included in zfs 0.8

Can someone please confirm if ZFS encryption now has been included in stable?

After the latest update ZFS didn't start on boot. I had to re-enable zfs-import.target and now it's fine.
