Hello everyone. I think it is time to merge the "Installing Arch Linux on ZFS" into the main ZFS article. Please contribute to the discussion here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Talk:Installing_Arch_Linux_on_ZFS#Merge_with_ZFS. Thanks!

ah, thanks

@lenzcom, I just updated the packages, you should not have to change anything. Just re-download the packages from AUR.

lenzcom commented on 2013-06-29 17:32 (UTC)

ah, okay, just changed the kernel version to my running "3.9.8-1" in each package spl-utils=0.6.1_3.9.7-1 -> spl-utils=0.6.1_3.9.8-1 spl=0.6.1_3.9.7-1 -> spl=0.6.1_3.9.8-1 zfs-utils=0.6.1_3.9.7-1 -> zfs-utils=0.6.1_3.9.8-1 zfs=0.6.1_3.9.7-1 -> zfs=0.6.1_3.9.8-1 and build each of them with "makepkg -sf", afterwards "sudo pacman -U $pkg" worked like a charm.

lenzcom commented on 2013-06-29 17:13 (UTC)

pardon, this is what we need: "linux=3.9.7-1" makepkg -sf ==> Erstelle Paket: zfs 0.6.1_3.9.7-1 (Sa 29. Jun 21:11:32 CEST 2013) ==> Prüfe Laufzeit-Abhängigkeiten... ==> Installiere fehlende Abhängigkeiten... Fehler: Ziel nicht gefunden: linux=3.9.7-1 ==> FEHLER: 'pacman' konnte fehlende Abhängigkeiten nicht installieren.

@demizer: Hm. You could be right about the missing /bin to /usr/bin symlink. I'll check the version of "filesystem" package once I get back to that PC, because as far as I remember, /bin was a directory with no files and just a few symlinks (bash being one of them). That seems weird.

@MilanKnizek, which package is failing? I have not had any problems. Do you not have a symlink in for /bin -> usr/bin?
