@Salamandar having installed the package through an updated PKGBUILD I am not seeing the error you are reporting.

Well, AndroidStudio does not accept a read-only location for the SDK. /opt/android-sdk is not accepted… What the hell Google ??

Me neither. It seems that AS now includes the Gradle distribution (until now, it was automatically dl in ~/.gradle). And it's not pleased it's not already included… Found the new build here : https://dl.google.com/dl/android/studio/ide-zips/1.3.0.0/android-studio-ide-141.1962279-linux.zip Replacing the whole /opt/android-studio with this one works fine.

Unable to upgrade from 1.2.1.1 (141.1903250) to Canary 1.3 Preview 0 (141.1962279) due to conflicts with the patch. Anyone able to get it working?

1.2.0.9 is the latest build at http://tools.android.com/download/studio/canary/latest so I'm removing the out of date flag.

android-sdk should be in optional dependency
