Man, thank you so much for making v4.x with GTK3! I was sticking to 3.10.1 for a long time bc the new 4.x versions with that Qt are full of bugs but now I can finally have the latest version with the better interface! Thank you!

@Npa: The next version will be 4.2, not 4.5. And yes, it will be available for GTK3 as well. But don't expect new GTK related features. Audacious' focus is more on Qt meanwhile.

Hi Mr Radioactiveman, thank you very much, i don't use qt so it's very nice to find the GtK version with a dark theme. Is the next version 4.5 will also be available for GtK ?

Having just installed this package, I would like to say thank you to @Radioactiveman. In particular I was glad to find that you’re providing the latest version. (I can’t for the life of me understand how someone could think they could demand that you stick with an old version just to solve their personal issues – this is not audacious3-gkt3 after all – their inacceptable rudeness aside.) I installed this version to get the “Jump to time” function in the WinAmp Classic interface and I’m glad it’s there. Many thanks!

@rado84: Older versions of the PKGBUILD can still be found at https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/log/?h=audacious-gtk3. But in general it makes no sense to use outdated software which also could be a security risk.

I'll create a bug report (not that it will be fixed in the next 10 years) but that's not the point! Linux is about choice but the maintainer of this package doesn't give us any choice. The right thing to do would be to create another package for 3.10.1 (could be named audacious3-gtk3, for instance) which would be forever frozen at 3.10.1, so that those of us who don't want the new version can switch back to the old version and then update audacious-gtk3 to the latest version. With audacious-gtk3 being updated to v4.1, there goes the last possibility to remain with 3.10.1. It's a good thing I'm a backup maniac and had a backup to restore from (bc downgrading doesn't have the desired effect) but others may not be so fortunate.

@rado84: Cool down and watch your language! Create a bug report for Audacious instead of flaming here.

You just couldn't resist to destroy the last normal remaining version of this player, could you?! You had to upgrade it to 4.x and make it completely useless! This crap version doesn't read the tags of any file format and everything is quiet AF! I have mp3 files with constant replay gain of +10.5 db which sound OK with AIMP in Windows but in Audacious 4.x on Linux setting the player to 100% volume changes nothing! Typical...

@Radioactiveman, okay, thanks for your work.

@TomaszGasior: Officially supported are only GTK2 and Qt, but we still offer a GTK3 branch. As a long-time contributor I will try to update it when necessary. Just don't expect new GTK3-only features or any official support.
