Looks like sword-svn-compat has been merged to master.

BTW. Is there anything specific you'd want me to test out in the software. I basically check that it runs, that I can switch books and search.

I'm definitely interested, thanks for the heads up :) Will update the package ASAP.

In case anyone's interested. I just compiled and installed sword-svn 2953 and then compiled and installed bibletime-git. It seems to work fine. I think the bibletime devs just brought the sword-svn-compat branch up to date in the last couple of days.

SanskritFritz commented on 2013-08-02 05:13 (UTC)

All I can do is try to compile this with newer sword-svn and if it compiles, I increase the version. I'm in touch with the devs on IRC, I get advice from there.

Of course that is a question best posed to the bibletime devs. I looked at the bibletime Master and the sword-svn-compat branches and the master branch has a lot more commits than the sword-svn-compat branch. That's the reason I asked primarily.

But sword-svn=2793 would still be recent enough that it would enable indexing, wouldn't it? Is there another reason the sword-svn-compat branch is used?

SanskritFritz commented on 2013-08-01 21:18 (UTC)

bibletime head does not compile against latest sword-svn. The development team follows sword-svn loosely on this branch.

I don't have bibletime (only xiphos), so I'm not 100% sure that it is relevant for bibletime, but you need sword-svn if you want to be able to index modules for super-fast searching.
