@ant0n et all, lets keep the comments here about packaging issues, general Brave usage issues should go in another forum to not clutter up this comment space. I'm deleting comments that have no relation to packaging. Grey areas like crashes that could be blamed on Arch can stay until proven otherwise, but things like how to configure Brave to handle popups or site X or whatever just don't belong here. Thanks for understanding.

It's because Brave is not willing to give permission to Arch to distribute a version that they compile.

How is this not in the extra repository? Does it need 2346 more votes?

After installed brave-bin I got:

$ brave
$ MESA-INTEL: warning: Haswell Vulkan support is incomplete
libva error: /usr/lib/dri/iHD_drv_video.so init failed

I'm not really sure if anything changed upstream or in the package but the binary /opt/brave-bin/brave/brave is referenced as /opt/brave-bin/brave in /usr/bin/brave on line 25

$brave
/usr/bin/brave: line 25: /opt/brave-bin/brave: Is a directory
/usr/bin/brave: line 25: exec: /opt/brave-bin/brave: cannot execute: Is a directory

agree with @zerophase, brave has been crashing for me randomly within using it for the first 5 minutes. Just updated it today and other browsers are working fine, but not brave. Tried disabling all extensions and switching off hardware acceleration, but it still isn't working

Has Brave just started crashing for anyone else within the past day or two?

I just updated my system packages, and I'm trying to figure out if one of those is negatively impacting Brave. It doesn't always crash, but eventually it starts crashing every time after startup.

@mr91, I have been receiving updates normally. We should soon receive the update.

Is this package still mantained?

@alerque, I'm experiencing a bug where minimizing and restoring the Brave window decreases in size. This occurs when the window is not maximized. I use KDE + Wayland. Do you experience this problem?

Reproduce the bug:
- Keep the Brave window active without being maximized
- Click the minimize button in the window
- Then I clicked on the Brave icon in the taskbar
