@ant0n et all, lets keep the comments here about packaging issues, general Brave usage issues should go in another forum to not clutter up this comment space. I'm deleting comments that have no relation to packaging. Grey areas like crashes that could be blamed on Arch can stay until proven otherwise, but things like how to configure Brave to handle popups or site X or whatever just don't belong here. Thanks for understanding.

Please use the new location https://github.com/brave/brave-browser

@Kabir Please ask that on a Brave related forum, or check the issue tracker. This is only the comment section for the AUR package, and we just wrap up what the upstream project produces in a way that can be easily installed on Archlinux. Your question is about the upstream project, not this package.

Has the feature to edit browser / website fonts and themes been implemented yet? Thanks!

@caleb Awesome, great work. Wish I'd added you weeks ago, sorry again!

Thanks @mischka. I'll work on these two first and then maybe approach the -git package owner about normalizing these three again.

I did a whole bunch of cleanup to the packaging, mostly to closer match current AUR packaging guidelines, but also to simply the scripting, make it easier to track changes to the files being injected by this package separate from the PKGBUILD, and generally clean things up. You might have a look at the git log to see what I did. Notably only the change to the wrapper script (moving the warning message from build()) bumped the pkgver, everything else in the installed should end up being identical, it just gets there in a safer way.

@caleb Great thanks! Except I forgot that I already orphaned the -git one a while ago for similar reasons so I can no longer add you to that one, ha. Thanks again!

alerque commented on 2018-08-31 07:18 (UTC)

@mischka Sure you can add me on those too.

Oh great apologies, I really wish I saw your offer to be co-maintainer earlier. I'd been on vacation and sort of unplugged for a while, apologies, and I don't use Brave myself any longer so I don't really prioritize updates. Sorry about that.

Thanks for offering, I've added you as a co-maintainer! Would you be willing to do the same for the other two brave packages?

alerque commented on 2018-08-13 13:12 (UTC) (edited on 2018-08-17 16:11 (UTC) by alerque)

Can we maybe get some co-maintainers on this package? The upstream project moves very fast and releases frequently and it seems there is frequently a week or two lag in this package. With very little changing between most releases, maybe with a few more people with push access we can keep it more up to date.

Edit: 2018-08-13 — I'm willing to help update as a co-maintainer if you add me.
