Apparently the update check in the app triggers for the 2.2 beta version - which is beta on the website, but apparently not(?) otherwise?

Please tag this out of date AFTER it's available on the website, as even the online installer has the word BETA in it, there's a small .run updater file that the app downloads but…

@KozRoss I've pushed my version here: https://github.com/sausix/PKGBUILD-chitubox

Just clone it locally and run "makepkg -si". But backup your profiles. In 2.0.0 my custom printer and resin profiles were gone. You can probably import them into 2.0.0.

There's probably still a problem with mime types because I had to reassign them manually. Will look at that later.

@C0rn3j Feel free to merge but you'll probably want to create the package "chitubox-basic". I'll do it if you want.

@sausix - could you make this package? I'd like to try out the latest Chitubox Basic.

sausix commented on 2024-03-10 14:31 (UTC)

Chitubox Free is now called CHITUBOX Basic. And unfortunately 2.0.0 now uses a binary installer. I've created a working PKGBUILD for that, updated the desktop file and discarded "launcher" because a launcher is now being distributed.

A maintainer could merge my work and improve it. Else if out of date "forever", I would create a new package having a matching name.

Also the download is no more behind a login mask so @Hegz method could be applied without any manual intervention.

Why does this require manual intervention?

FYI, you can grab the file with this URL scheme:

It feels inappropriate to error out here.

EDIT: messed up the code embed.

Since the upgrade to 1.9.2 slicing for an Anycubic Photon Mono does not work anymore (slicing works, but pwmo file is not created). Seems like the conversion process to the pwmo file is crashing.

Downgrading to 1.9.0 "solves" the problem.

from the logs at the very end after saving the sliced model:

...... ==slicer version "V1.9.2.0"
processFinishSlot 223 process is finish -1 QProcess::CrashExit

** UPDATE *** Quickfix - seems to be an accessright issue

/opt/chitubox-free is owned by root after installation Changing the ownership to the current user solves the problem

sudo chown -R <user>.users /opt/chitubox-free

Thanks for the package!

Just a suggestion, I think arch should be x86_64 instead of any. I have checked and the binary included in Chitubox tarball is x86_64 only:

$ file /opt/chitubox-free/CHITUBOX
/opt/chitubox-free/CHITUBOX: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (GNU/Linux), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.32, BuildID[sha1]=9adee4c6b94a5e160ae678e95bb6a8065244db12, not stripped
