That's ok. Glad you got it working. :)

@Chazza Thank you so much! You are the Boss! ;-)

Oh yeah, you can't apply the patches to the same srcdir twice. You need a clean srcdir. run makepkg -Ci instead. The -C option will delete the previous srcdir so you're working from a fresh source.

Download the tarball from the "Download snapshot" link on the right hand side. Extract the tarball. Then open in terminal inside the extracted folder and run the following: $ makepkg -i the -i option means that you will be prompted to install the package when compilation has completed. If it complains of missing dependencies then run makepkg -si It's highly recommended that you read the AUR documentation available, namely: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository

1: Yes, my system is always up to date. 2: Yes, I reinstall the base and the base-devel group too. 3: No, I did not try to install package manually. I don't know how to.

I'm afraid I cannot confirm the issue, my compiz build completed successfully. I think the problem must be with your system. Please consider the following: 1) Is your system up to date? 2) Do you have the base-devel group installed? This is expected for building AUR packages. 3) You look like you're using some sort of AUR helper. Have you tried building the package manually?

I've started building compiz now. I'm a bit busy atm though so though so I'll get back to you in an hour or so.
