So, I have been able to build crashplan per the old PKGBUILD to v 4.9.0, but for some reason the desktop application is not possible to launch. I started the crashplan-pro service, and currently htop is showing a LOT of java activity related to crashplan, hogging tons of cpu, which is kind of strange, as I haven't been able to set the system up. Is this to be expected? I am trying to run this on lts-rt kernel with i3wm.
EDIT: needed to set java-8 as default JVM to launch the crashplan client. Seems to be happily backing up now!

I'm going to be disowning this package soon. I'm moving away from crashplan and have no interest in maintaining this package, and dealing with usage issues, when I wont be using it.
I'll keep it up to date during the coming months as needed, but if no one else shows up, I plan to disown it at the end of October.

@gadicc, I added some pacman hooks to handle setting/unsetting the immutable flag:
Sets immutable flag after install/upgrade:
Unsets immutable flag before upgrade/remove:
