I'm going to be disowning this package soon. I'm moving away from crashplan and have no interest in maintaining this package, and dealing with usage issues, when I wont be using it.

I'll keep it up to date during the coming months as needed, but if no one else shows up, I plan to disown it at the end of October.

@gadicc, I added some pacman hooks to handle setting/unsetting the immutable flag:

Sets immutable flag after install/upgrade:

[Trigger]
Operation = Upgrade
Operation = Install
Type = Package
Target = crashplan-pro

[Action]
Description = Set immutability of Crashplan Pro upgrade directory
When = PostTransaction
Exec = /usr/bin/bash -c "rm -rf /opt/crashplan/upgrade/*; chattr +i /opt/crashplan/upgrade"`

Unsets immutable flag before upgrade/remove:

[Trigger]
Operation = Upgrade
Operation = Remove
Type = Package
Target = crashplan-pro

[Action]
Description = Undo immutability of Crashplan Pro upgrade directory
When = PreTransaction
Exec = /usr/bin/bash -c "chattr -i /opt/crashplan/upgrade"```

@skela, @jono: Did you make sure the crashplan-pro service is actually started? sudo systemctl status crashplan-pro.

skela commented on 2017-12-18 21:49 (UTC)

This doesn't work for me. Basically just getting the splash window, then after a while I get the error "Code42 cannot connect to its background service." With a Retry button.

I'm having trouble logging in with the client. It says 'unable to log in', but if I try the same creds here, I get in fine https://web-lbm-msp.crashplanpro.com/login/#/login

Any tips on how to debug this?

If anyone is running headless and has a little wonder about how to deal w/ this, I finally got around to solving this and maybe it'll help you.

I installed xorg-server lightdm lightdm-gtk-greeter xterm fluxbox x11vnc. Configure lightdm to use the gtk greeter (or any other if you want) and start it. Then you can point x11vnc at it and connect w/ a VNC client. Fluxbox is a very simple window manager and xterm is so you can run CrashPlanDesktop easily.

sudo x11vnc -display :0 -auth /run/lightdm/root/:0

@blackhole it just has to rebuild the manifest. let it sit overnight and it should be back to normal.

I'm thinking I'll just lock at 4.9 :/

Upgrading now I am stuck at

Preparing to back up. 462,046 files (394 GB) to do

systemd service running. It seems Crashplan wanto to remake the backup (but it is not starting however)
