Despite not having updates for so long, criptext as an e-mail service is working pretty fine, at least on my debian. i did have some problems related to gnome-keyring. To solve this i installed libfuse2 (for the Appimage itself) and libpam-gnome-keyring which provides pam_gnome_keyring.so (on arch family this comes with gnome-keyring itself) and gnome-keyring itself, enable --now gnome-keyring. When executing the appimage on the terminal use the --no-sandbox option, put that on your criptext .desktop. If for some reason refuses try to logout and log back in or reboot. cheers

Sorry guys, but Criptext development has seemed to cease completely.

I am having problems running Criptext on my Arch Linux. I have the packages placed as optional installed but which are required. I tested it on a virtual machine with Manjaro and it gave the same error. This is the output of the command:

This happens in both this version of AUR and Appimage, and strangely enough works fine in Ubuntu-based distros.

I would really appreciate it if you could help with this.

I am recieving the following error: service error unable to initialize encryption service. terminate called after throwing an instance of 'sqlite::errors::notadb' what(): file is not a database

Any advice?

missingSleepDeps commented on 2021-09-24 21:26 (UTC)

Good luck @ajgraves, developer support has all but vanished since it's become a one-man team. Criptext definitely can't use KDE's keyring/wallet; it relies on libgcrypt which only wants gnome-keyring, it seems...

ajgraves commented on 2021-09-17 02:33 (UTC) (edited on 2021-09-17 02:33 (UTC) by ajgraves)

Hey @IEPforAUR thanks for that. I think the reason we have it listed as an optional is because you can technically use anything that handles keyrings, not just gnome-keyring. That said, I will dig more in to this and update appropriately.

missingSleepDeps commented on 2021-09-16 19:20 (UTC)

gnome-keyring Is no longer an optional dependency; it is required. The app's gui will not show up unless it is installed

ajgraves commented on 2021-09-10 17:29 (UTC)

@carlosal1015 you are correct, I'm updating that now. Sorry for the delayed reply.

Hi, I think the license path should be /usr/share/licenses, not /usr/share/LICENSES.
