This AUR package is a mirror and automatically updated from the proaudio binary repo project at https://github.com/osam-cologne/archlinux-proaudio

If possible, open a GitHub issue or PR instead of commenting here, thanks!

@all Heads up: I've updated the package to 1.4 and made the following changes:

  • Changed source to source distribution archive from https://github.com/rafael2k/darkice, i.e. the software is not built from a git checkout anymore.
  • Removed aacplus support, since the license status of libaacplus is problematic.

N.B.: Upstream version 1.4 is not listed on the project's web site, but it is tagged in their git repository (see https://github.com/rafael2k/darkice/issues/157).

Alright, update to my package from last year, as darkice is still on 1.2. Only change is I added armv7h since I use it on my modified chromebook.

I have an updated taurball here: http://sam.vis.nu/archlinux/darkice-1.2-1.src.tar.gz What's changed: - added support for resampling and opus - removed rc.d file - moved /etc/darkice.cfg to /etc/darkice/darkice.cfg - created a service file that allows for multiple config files (e.g. "systemctl enable darkice@main" for /etc/darkice/main.cfg - it has the raspberry pi "armv6h" in the available ARCHs. Probably not perfect, but it works so far. I can confirm that darkice works well on an rpi. I'm encoding a 128k and 64k MP3 *and* a 32k opus stream all on the pi, with some CPU room to spare. And I haven't even played around with performance settings yet.

Re-tested alternative architecture: ARM6h Raspberry Pi is *NOT* too slow for live encoding even MP3 and OGG simultaneously. Stuttering audio reported earlier was caused by faulty USB audio driver.
