Bricklou: changing the dependency will not change the runtime used for the package. (See the Deezer script in the sources, it will still start with electon6) Deezer distributes using version 5.
If you want, you can try running using the new electron:
electron /usr/share/deezer/app.asar
on your command line. You will see that it is very broken.

I tried to rebuild the package with
electron
instead ofelectron6
. It's work fine so you should change the requirements to avoid using an old version of electron.MichaelP commented on 2021-02-07 23:05 (UTC)
SibrenVasse it did not want nodejs-lts-fermium... It wanted nodejs.... I'm now on fedora i did not feel like spending hours getting arch to let my monitor do a 60 Hz refresh rate instead of 30.. When others was doing 60 out of the box like it should read !!

MichaelP: Oh sorry, in that case I'm confused. nodejs-lts-fermium is available in the same repository as nodejs. (community)

SibrenVasse: Was using Arch Linux: The Calam Arch Installer...

MichaelP: You seem to be using a different linux distribution that is not supported by the AUR or me. On Arch the package builds fine.

error: error: could not set install reason for package nodejs (could not find or read package).... I removed nodejs-lts-fermium from pkgbuild... Installed nodejs from arch repo... ran makepkg -sic .. works perfect !!!

Yup, that worked. Thanks.
I guess I'll have to move my AUR helper's cache somewhere else if I want to keep receiving updates... until Deezer's generated filenames get so long it starts breaking on their system too, then they might fix it, haha.

Yeah absolutely. Can you test by manually building (with makepkg) in a different directory (e.g. /tmp/)?

I am, uname: Linux 5.10.9-arch1-1
My home directory (and by extension, my ~/.cache where the package is built) is setup with eCryptfs on top of an ext4 partition[1]. Maybe that's what's causing the full-length file paths to go beyond the filesystem limit?
